ARTA Foundation Scholarships

The Austin Retired Teachers Association Scholarship for Future Educators was established in 1975 and has progressively increased to $1200, the current award amount. In 2008. the ARTA Foundation was organized under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a non-profit, tax exempt organization which replaced the original ARTA Scholarship Committee.

Each year ARTA Foundation awards a scholarship to a qualified graduating senior from each high school in the Austin Independent School District, a total of 14 scholarships.

In order to qualify, a student must make a commitment to enroll at a college or university to study to be an educator, present evidence of ability to complete college requirements, and demonstrate financial need. The guidelines and application are linked below.
